Starting rate of $31.29 per hour plus applicable shift premiums (full rate after two years $36.57 per hour)<\/div>\n
Night Shift Premiums – $32.79 per hour (inclusive of $1.50 per hour night shift premium; Sunday rate: $40.99 per hour)<\/div>\n

Requirements for the General Service position include:<\/div>\n
    \n
  • G-class Ontario Driver’s license with zero demerit points (mandatory upgrade to C-class license) NEW – the LTC will take care of upgrading you to a C-class license!<\/li>\n
  • Air Brake Endorsement (Z) (required prior to start date).<\/li>\n
  • One year of hands-on basic mechanical skills, use of power tools, experience working on vehicles, etc. NEW<\/li>\n
  • Grade 12 Diploma or the equivalent.<\/li>\n
  • Ability to work in a team environment.<\/li>\n
  • Ability to work midnight shifts (11 PM to 7 AM).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    What You'll Do:<\/div>\n
      \n
    • Work as lead hand when assigned, servicing and cleaning of fleet vehicles.<\/li>\n
    • Minor repairs to vehicles (examples: lights, mirrors, wipers, etc.).<\/li>\n
    • Assist skilled tradespersons as required.<\/li>\n
    • Change engine, transmission, differential and cooling system fluids, as well as replenish fluids in the hydraulic system and lubricate fleet vehicles.<\/li>\n
    • Remove and replace wheels and rims on fleet vehicles if appropriate training completed.<\/li>\n
    • Carry out service calls, bus change-offs, and out of service calls.<\/li>\n
    • Wash and clean plant, equipment, and fleet vehicles.<\/li>\n
    • Grounds maintenance, scrap and garbage removal, and maintenance of plant equipment as required.<\/li>\n
    • Operate (with proper training) forklift, skid steer, bobcat, sweeper\/scrubber.<\/li>\n
    • Shovel snow and salt sidewalks as needed.<\/li>\n
    • Other duties as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
